How it Works

Making Sure You Understand Everything

Understanding how the system works is fairly easy once explained correctly. The system starts at the box. The Dog Guard transmitter (box) sends out an electrical current over a loop of wire. As you can see from the illustration to the right the twisted wire connects the box to the outside loop of wire, by twisting the wire it allows the current to reach the loop but the wires twisted together cancels out the signal field so the dog can walk freely over the buried twisted wire. The same idea is used for the interior loop. The transmitter has an adjustable range setting so you can adjust how large you want the signal field around the wire to be.
